As President Xi Jinping delivered his New Year's address on Tuesday via state broadcasters, something else beside his speech caught the eyes of the audience: his office décor.存倉It was the first time that the Chinese had a glimpse inside the office of the country's president. According to the video, Xi was sitting behind a large wooden table with three telephones and a penholder on it. A painting of the Great Wall and a National Flag can be seen behind the president's chair. Large bookshelves on the walls were filled with books. Six photos on Xi's bookshelves became immediately the hottest topic on Chinese media.Identified by the media, the six photos included four from Xi's family life that were set right behind him. In one, Xi is pushing his late father Xi Zhongxun in a wheelchair; another shows Xi pedaling his daughter on the back seat of his bicycle. Xi takes a walk hand-in-hand with his mother Qi Xin in the third photo, and he poses with his wife Peng Liyuan during a trip in Fujian Province. The other two photos on the bookshelf on the right side of his office show Xi di儲存ing with soldiers when visiting Guangzhou and playing football during his visit to Ireland. Those photos created a buzz online, and were reposted and discussed both by media and web users.VoicesDong Lu, CCTV anchorman:Two-thirds of the photos are family photos, showing his value of family. The two with his parents were put on the higher level of the shelf, showing the traditional Chinese standards of filial piety.Achilles_WI: He can have the country in his heart, only when he has his family in his heart.南極刺蝟 1209: The desk is so large. Can he reach the telephones?lugulabre: One of the telephones is for ordering buns.Time World:Where, in this modern era, is a computer in Xi's workplace? Could it be that the leader of a nation with the most Internet users on Earth — more than half a billion wired people — leads an offline existence?Business Insider:In the short time he's been leader of China, Xi (or his image managers) appears to have made some attempts to break down the barriers between him and the people he leads ... like eating six pork buns at a cafeteria-style Beijing restaurant.迷你倉
