The country is likely to produce about 30 billion cubic metres (bcm) less gas than it will need this year, Zanganeh said. "Even though we import 40 million cubic metres a day of gas from Turkmenistan, we still face shortage and we have to consume oil products in power plants," the minister said. "This figure is catastrophic due to their impacts on the environment by polluting the air."HEAD OF ARAMCO'S KOREAN UNIT TO BE NEW SAUDI OPEC GOVERNOR: Mohammed Al-Madi, the head of Saudi Aramco's South Korean unit is set to replace Yasser Mufti as Saudi Arabia's OPEC governor, Bloomberg has reported, citing a person with knowledge of the matter. Al-Madi will probably take up the position next year as Mufti plans to step down by the end of 2013, the person said. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE have already agreed to supply Egypt with oil products until the end of December, and Egypt is now discussing further supplies, Ismail said.
