A SENIOR Shanghai district official is under investigation for unspecified violation of Party disciplines, local disciplinary authorities said on their Weibo microblog yesterday.文件倉Wang Jun, 53, deputy director of Songjiang District in southwest Shanghai, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China, the statement said. Wang will also be sacked from his post after the city government approves of it.Initial investigations claimed Wang had violated Party disciplines and laws. He will be handed over to the judicial department for criminal investigation at a later date.Wang has a PhD in industrial economics from Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.He was a Standing Committee member of the CPC Songjiang Committee and had been the deputy director of Songjiang since December 2006.During his tenure as deputy director, Wang was in charge of oversee存倉ng the district’s development and reform, state-owned assets, and the bureaus of finance, statistics and taxation.He was also responsible for coordinating the work of auditing bureau and contacting banks, insurance companies, state-owned investment companies and Sheshan National Tourist Resort Joint Development Corp.Prior to that, Wang had been a neighborhood official in Caobei Neighborhood Committee and Xuzhen Neighborhood Committee in Xuhui District.After that, he was promoted as deputy director of the tourism office of Xuhui District and then become the director of the tourism office and CEO of Shanghai Longhua Tourism City Development Co Ltd.Wang also held the posts of office director, foreign affairs director and reception director of Xuhui District.
