Source: Bangkok Post, ThailandAug.迷你倉價錢 08--The Kewkacha family, who owns Safari World theme park, is branching out by opening Japanese restaurants specialising in gyoza.The family's company, Kacha Brothers Co, yesterday signed a 10-year deal with Japan's Teraoka Shoten Co to bring its popular restaurants to Thailand.Chief executive Litti Kewkacha said Kacha Brothers, which also operates the Sfree ice-cream brand, will open the first outlet in Bangkok's Siam Paragon shopping centre in October.It plans to open 7-10 branches next year and reach 30 within five years.Each outlet costs 4-5 million baht, and the firm has also set aside 10 million baht for building a new central kitchen to produce gyoza with ingredients mainly from Japan.Though Japanese food has been popular with Thai consumers for a long time, Mr Litti believes the sector still has room to grow. The value of the Japanese food business is estimated at 15 billion baht, with average growth of about 15% per year."Teraoka Shoten is an untapped market.
