Her designs include famous landmarks such as the Tower Bridge in London and the Eiffel Tower in Paris. She suggests starting with simple geometric shapes, such as a heart, or short words in capital letters, so that the text will all be of the same height. She adds: "Make sure the design is smaller than the size of your card, or the edges will be lost."lting@sph.com.sgWhat you needPop-up card templateRulerPencilDrawing blockMagic tape (a translucent adhesive tape which is less sticky than normal tape)Cutting padCraft knifePenknifeGlue stickColoured card the size you want your greeting card to beWhat to doCreate a template for your pop-up card. You can do this by printing a simple design or a word in capital letters onto a piece of A4-sized paper, making sure that the design is in the middle. There are also templates for pop-up cards online at websites such as .creativepopupcards.com/tutorials.For this demonstration, Ms Guo will use the word "love".1. Using a ruler and pencil, draw four straight lines on the paper:a. Along the base of the textb. 1.5cm above this first linec. Along the top of the textd. 1.5cm above the third lineMake sure the space between the first and second lines is equal迷你倉沙田to the space between the third and fourth lines, as this is how much the card will "pop".2. Draw a series of perpendicular lines from the third to the four line, extending upwards from the edges of the letters. The space between these lines will form the connecting tabs, which will hold the design to the rest of the paper. For example, extend the vertical section of the letter "L" upwards and do this for both arms of the letter "V". For "O", draw the tab in the middle of the top of the letter.3. Use magic tape to stick your design onto a piece of drawing block, making sure that it is centred.4. Put the two pieces of paper onto a cutting pad. Then use a craft knife to carefully cut around every part of the word and the tabs, except the top of the tabs and the parts where the letters touch the bottom line. Also cut out the inside of the letter "O" and remove the loose piece of paper.5. Carefully remove the magic tape and the template, making sure not to tear the drawing block.Use a penknife to lightly score the drawing block along the four lines, to make it easier to fold. For line "a", score only along the lettersFor line "b", score only along the lineFor line "c", score along the top of the lettersFor line "d", score only along the top of the tabs (see the pink highlights)6. Fold the letters outwards, according to the lines that you scored in the previous step. Press the creases down firmly with a ruler to make sure the folds are neat.7. Fold the coloured piece of card in half and press the crease down firmly with a ruler.Use the penknife to trim the drawing block to the same size as the card, then glue both pieces together to complete your card.迷你倉價錢
