Source: Dayton Daily News, OhioSept.self storage 27--The new Piada Italian Street Food in Kettering attracted a throng of fans Thursday night who wanted to benefit from the promotion that will give away free food for a year to the first 100 customers in line this morning, Sept. 27, when the restaurant opens at 10:45.More than 80 of those 100 slots were already registered and taken by 7 p.m. Thursday, according to a Piada spokeswoman. "I've just been sitting here reading my Kindle."The Dayton area's newest restaurant is located at 4397 Far Hills Ave. near Shroyer Road. It is the second Dayton-area location for Piada, which opened its first location at 1047 Miamisburg-Centerville Road in Washington Twp. last October. A third Dayton-are迷你倉 location has been leased and is undergoing renovation at 3286 Pentagon Blvd. near the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek, and is expected to open this fall.For today's promotional event, the new Piada will give away vouchers for 52 Piada entrees, with a retail value of about $500, to the first 100 people in line at 10:45 a.m. The new Kettering Piada has hired 40 people.The Piada concept, featuring custom-rolled wraps, pasta bowls and salads, is the brainchild of Chris Doody, co-founder of the Bravo and Brio Italian restaurant chains. Doody said last year that he chose Dayton as the first expansion of Piada outside of the Columbus area because the Dayton area "has been a great market for Brio and Bravo."
